The windows client has for a long time had a solution for customers who use Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes* as their mail client, from 6.3 of 6.web the same possibilities as in the windows client is availabe for web.
* Requires that the Notes link must be installed on the server.
Download mail client
First you need to download the Mail Link installation file. Go to 7.Web - menu File - Download - Mail Link Client
Click to Run the file from it's location. This will install the mail client on your local computer, there is no need for the windows client installed.
Select the installation folder.
If you have Office 2007 or 2010 choose Typical installation.
If you have Office 2000 - 2003 choose Custom installation and select the Mail Link for Office 2000 - 20003.
Click Next and then Install to start the installation.
After the installation is finished you'll get the summary screen. You can also view the installation log file from this screen.
Set up Outlook
In Outlook 2007/2010 go to the Home tab and click the bottom right corner on the SuperOffice Ribbon.
Set up in Notes
In Notes go to Actions - SuperOffice options...
For both types of client the following dialog is the same.
Go to SuperOffice Account tab and choose Sales & Marketing (Web clinet). Open the Advanced settings and enter the Sales & Marketing URL. Type only the root part, like http://SERVER/SuperOffice. The rest (/services/mailinkservice.svc) will be added automatically.
Fill in the User name and click Test connection. A new dialog will appear where you enter your SuperOffice username and password. If all the details are OK you'll recieve the Connection succeeded dialog.
You can configure Mail Link behavior on the Archive Options and General Settings tabs. The info about components version is available on the About tab.
Enable debug
If you need to enable debug logging for Mail Link, go to SuperOffice Account tab, open Advanced settings and tick Enable debug logging. You can also open the log file from the same place.
