How to set up your own contact interests
Aktualisiert am 18. Feb. 2021
When determining the target group for your mailings, you will most likely create selections from your customer database. To get useful selections, you need the right criteria. By adding or editing the contact interests, you can create selections for more accurate mailings. You can add or edit any contact interest field to create your own segmentation criteria.
Note: We assume here that your database is set up in such a way that you are able to segment your database. If not, please see the part part Standard CRM of the administrator set-up guide to learn how to set up your database.
Contact interests
In order to select the right target group, you will have to use the right criteria in your selection. Among the criteria you can use, are "Interests" on the contact person card.
As an administrator, you can add and edit interests by editing the list: Contact – Interest in the Settings and Maintenance module.
Determine your customers' interests
If it’s the first time using SuperOffice Marketing, you may want to find out what your customers and prospects are interested in.
A great way to find out is to send out your first mailing. You can set up special links that, when clicked on, makes SuperOffice CRM check certain interests on the contact person card. You can read more about this in the How to create global links guide.
Example:
You can set it up so that when the customer or prospect clicks on the link "Invite me to your seminar and send me your press releases", SuperOffice will check the boxes with the corresponding interests.
Once SuperOffice has updated all the customer cards and contact persons correspondingly, you can start making selections based on these interests for targeted newsletters and campaigns.
You can also use other methods to create targeted lists. You can use any other field on the customer card, or add user-defined fields to the company card.
Learn how to add contact interests
Contact interests are part of a list, just like category and business. Therefore, you can add and remove the contact interests in exactly the same way. Just search for Contact - interest in the List overview.
